WHO CAN YOU TURN TO?

Lobby your MP and make a Submission to the Review Committee - see below

When debating on party lines - Only Ministers are allowed to speak.
(Members can only ask questions in the party room)

In the Lower House - Troy Buswell as the former Minister for Commerce - is still responsible for this Bill.

Troy Buswell said that the Property Owners Association WAS consulted about this bill?  The POAWA Inc. is NOT HAPPY about this bill as it discredits Property Owners and penalises them while tenants are not fined for property damage or stealing rent money.

The opposition is NOT passionate about this Bill either. (Probably because they started it).  If you want any member to ask questions - lobby the Nationals Upper House members - urgently.

The Bill has been referred to the  Uniform Legislation and Statutes Review Committee  for review and Public Submissions.

Make a submission - there is a chance that your views will make sense and cause some clear thinking to occur - before it is too late.

What should your submission cover?

Submissions should address the Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill 2011.  There is plenty of information here for you to get started.
